UNDP Indonesia upholds its commitment for gender equality and inclusion, including rolling out the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Strategy. The office is mandatory to align UNDP’s value on GESI. Moving forward from the Gender Equality Strategy conducted in 2017-2020, the Office sets new Gender Equality & Social Inclusion Strategy 2021-2025, to strive forward working towards gender equality and Leaving No One Left Behind (LNOB) across programme, non-programming, and its enabling environment.

UNDP Indonesia is the 1st country office in Regional Burau Asia Pacific (RBAP), awarded Gender Gold Seal Certification, a corporate certification which recognizes good performance of UNDP Country Offices (CO) in delivering gender equality results. Since receiving the award in October 2020, it has been marked the advancing journey of our office to maintain high quality gender equality and social inclusion across UNDP works in Indonesia. The Gender Gold Certification will be reviewed every two years and thus there is a requirement to maintain CO’s performance across 8 mandatory gender seal benchmarks; Management, Capacities, Enabling Environment, Communication and Knowledge Production, Program, Partnership, Results, and in Crisis Context (whenever is relevant). Against this backdrop, to conduct daily assistance to the implementation of GESI in Country Office, we are seeking a candidate Gender Project Clerk. She/he will work closely with the Gender Officer and UNDP Gender Task Force. In some conditions, the Technical Assistant is required to be able to work under limited supervision. She/He has skills to maintain communication with people with various culture across UNDP’s units, a fast learning and will represent UNDP with external stakeholders (whenever is required).

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will work closely with Gender and Result Officer and Gender Task Force UNDP Indonesia. She/He will work under the Quality Assurance Unit. Head of Unit will have overall control or superintendence to the position, however, for the day-to-day direct supervision will be held by Gender Result Officer.

Support the overall gender mainstreaming in UNDP Indonesia, both for programming and non-programming area:

  • Provision of technical and administrative support to Gender Task Force team1 Indonesia in developing gender relevant documents for the Country office, to monitor gender results progress/achievements and archiving its supporting evidence documents.

  • Provision of support in coordination meeting and activities regarding the promotion of Gender Equality and advancement of women’s empowerment.

Supporting Gender and Social Inclusion Advocacy and Campaign:

  • Provision of support Gender team at Country Office to conduct campaign, awareness raising and capacity building on Gender, SH/PSEA and social inclusion to UNDP’s internal staffs.

  • To assist gender team to work with Communication Unit to manage the publication gender best/good practices of UNDP Indonesia’s works.

  • Support Disability Focal Point to ensure documentation in connection with the work of disability inclusion in Country Office.

Effective support for capacity building related to gender and social inclusion:

  • Support administratively on arrangement of capacity-building programme related with gender and social inclusion (including documentation of gender analysis, capacity-building identification needs for UNDP and project staff, Etc.)

  • Provision of support in knowledge repository for gender mainstreaming; participate in UNDP’s gender community and share information and experiences with the Gender Network.

Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Participation in the training(s) for the operations/ projects staff.

  • Supporting administration of learning, documentation of training material for Country office.

  • Contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice related to gender mainstreaming and inclusive strategy.

  • Activities are designed and implemented in accordance with “Social and Environmental Standards of UNDP”;

  • Differentiated needs of women and men are considered;

  • Inclusive approach is reflected within all actions and implementations, in that sense an enabling and accessible setup in various senses such as disability gender language barrier is created;

  • Necessary arrangements to provide gender parity within all committees, meetings, trainings etc. introduced.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:


  • Bachelor Degree in social science, international relations, gender studies or relevant areas.


Experience:


  • Some UN experience especially in gender related matters would be desirable

  • Experience providing support for gender mainstreaming related activities and/or with disability community would be desirable

  • Experience handling administrative and filling management related matters would be desirable

  • Experience working using cloud system for filling system

  • Having basic knowledge on gender and/or social inclusion

  • Having skills on people management

  • Having capacity in managing meeting platforms, documentation of paperwork database photos, and archiving system

  • Fully computer literate

  • Good interpersonal skills

Language Requirements:

  • English and Bahasa
