Amnesty International Indonesia is seeking a professional with demonstrated experience in human rights, to assist Amnesty International Indonesia and its partners on the development of overarching research and campaigning strategies, as well as developing networks with and gather data from the police, the military, government offices, NGOs/CSOs, and local media outlets across the country in order to advance the organization's human rights agenda and raise awareness of Amnesty International's work to promote and protect human rights, support Amnesty International's global campaigns.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Researcher will assist Amnesty International Indonesia's research team:
Responsible for data monitoring and capacity building.
To write materials for publication and internal use, especially on the topic of the protection and empowerment social justice leaders and contribute to and provide expert advice in relation to written and other materials produced by other programmes.
Develop and operate media monitoring system to help regular documentation of violation towards SJLs and vulnerable communities in the country.
To develop module and provide human rights educations for the public to improve individual and public awareness of their rights and gain support from the wider public to protect social justice leaders and vulnerable communities.
ABOUT YOU The suitable candidate must have Proven experience in media monitoring, analysis and reporting. Ability to understand and express ideas in English and, where applicable, other relevant languages, in a fluent, clear and concise way, both orally and in writing; draft text in a variety of styles, e.g., documents such as substantial reports, government correspondence and media and action materials; Ability to deal in a sensitive and understanding manner with a variety of people, including survivors of human rights violations and others who may be distressed; ABOUT US Amnesty International Indonesia is a national human rights entity that is part of a global human rights movement, established to address national human rights priorities as well as create the possibility for people in Indonesia to join Amnesty International's global human rights campaigns. Our mission in Indonesia is to address pertinent national human rights issues through research, campaigning and human rights education, and to empower Indonesians to take action on issues that matter to them through AI's international human rights movement; and to leverage Indonesia's influence regionally and globally to promote human rights domestically, bilaterally and internationally.
