International Mobility Officer – 1 year contract Feb 2022 – Feb 2023 with the possibility to extend
Nuffic Neso Indonesia is part of a worldwide network of Netherlands Education Support Offices, and is an overseas office of Nuffic, the Netherlands expertise and service centre for internationalisation in education. Nuffic Neso Indonesia key activities are:
Study in Holland promotion and student counselling for Indonesian students
Promote cooperation between Higher Education Institutions
Support Netherlands Alumni network
Management of scholarship programmes (StuNed, Orang Tulip)
Facilitate scientific research collaboration between Indonesia and the Netherlands
Support student mobility of Dutch students coming to Indonesia
Management of specific projects in the education field (EU-SHARE, DUTEP)
Student mobility has become one of the key components in internationalization of higher education. For most of the students, the opportunity to study abroad is considered as a once in a lifetime opportunity. Currently there are around 1500 Indonesians studying in the Netherlands for their bachelor, master and doctoral degree annually. There is also a growing interest of Dutch students to study in Indonesia. In this regard, Nuffic Neso Indonesia has managed and implemented various programmes and activities that promote mobility of students to and from the Netherlands that include implementation and promotion of scholarship and capacity building programmes.
These programmes include StuNed, Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP), Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) and Orange Tulip Scholarship, through various modalities namely master courses, short courses, and tailor-made training programmes. Nuffic Neso Indonesia is also a consortium partner in the EU-supported SHARE project, aimed at supporting the establishment of a higher education area in ASEAN.
Responsibilities:
Providing information and support to various stakeholders in Indonesia and the Netherlands
Assessing scholarship applications
Handling overall daily administration with regard to the management of the programmed
Student counseling (online, phone, one-on-one) and administration services
Implementing specific scholarship-related events
Establishing and maintaining regular communication with various stakeholders (applicants, awardees, Dutch Higher Education Institutions and Indonesian stakeholders)
Consulting with head quarter’s counterpart on issues related with the implementation of the programmed
Regularly reviewing the procedure and requirements of mobility programmed and suggesting necessary adjustments
Identify opportunities for potential partnerships with both Dutch and Indonesian organizations/ institutions
Providing relevant information to the Team Coordinator for report-writing; monitoring and evaluation purposes
Reporting to the Team Coordinator on a daily basis and periodically to the Director.
Requirements:
Minimal Bachelor’s degree (S1)
Minimum of 2-3 years working experience in a relevant position
Excellent English communication skills in speaking and writing
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Computer literate especially in MS office applications
Experience with studying abroad and/or living in the Netherlands preferred
Knowledge of thematic areas within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands would be an advantage. These include agriculture, water, sustainable entrepreneurship and circular economy, security, and rule of law
Able to work in a team and independently
