Project Overview and Role:
AIP-PRISMA - The Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Incomes through Support for Markets in Agriculture (PRISMA 2) is a five-year program (2019 – 2023) funded by the Australian Government’s aid program and implemented in cooperation with the Government of Indonesia. The program will build upon the achievements and results of Phase 1 (2013-2018), using a market systems development (MSD) approach to support inclusive economic growth in Indonesia’s agriculture sector.
PRISMA 2 will improve smallholder farmers’ competitiveness and access to new markets, better inputs, know-how and technology. It will aim to achieve a sustainable 30% increase in the net incomes of a further 700,000 smallholder farming households in Indonesia by 2023 (total 1 million farming households). The program operates in six provinces: East Java, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Papua, West Papua and Central Java.
A Tax Accountant is responsible for analysing fiscal matters and preparing, submitting, and managing tax tasks of the Project. A tax accountant also provides advice on financial and tax issues and should have an in-depth knowledge of the regulations, laws, and acts that govern the process in close coordination with the corporate tax consultant. Knowing this, a Tax Accountant has exceptional attention to detail, intense analytical skills, and is a good communicator.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will be expected to:
Identifying transactions that contain taxable income and VAT and withholding the correct income tax rate and VAT
Maintain reconciled tax accounting records between Project’s database and Managing Contractor’s Ledgers
Maintain finance and tax documents orderly and secure, including the scanned copies onto the Project’s and corporate’s cloud database.
Liaise with Corporate Tax Consultant to maintain sets of income tax articles 23 and 4 (2) review, reporting, and payments.
Liaise with HRD and tax consultant for the income tax article 21 – non-employees to maintain sets of income tax articles 21 non-employees management.
Liaise with DFAT Officer to maintain the VAT refund updates and timely response to queries and requests.
Uphold Palladium’s policy of Zero Tolerance on bribery and corruption, and ensure due diligence is followed.
Required Qualifications:
Essential
Hold taxation courses Brevet A and B, bachelor or diploma degree in finance, accounting or tax qualification.
Be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to tax savvy and non-tax savvy persons.
Thorough understanding of Indonesian e-tax systems, including skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
Demonstrated ability to promote and initiate work processes and complete given assignments with minimum supervision.
Trustworthiness, integrity, good analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team and be customer-satisfaction oriented.
Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and a good working knowledge of English.
Desirable
Some entry-level experience as a Tax Accountant or equivalent.
Some experience working for a reputable tax firm, company, or development program.
