[Save the children] : ASST Project Officer

ROLE PURPOSE: ASST (Adolescent Skill Successful Transition) Project Officer will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of ASST activities in selected sponsorship target schools or community in West Sumba. S/he will be responsible for programmatic implementation and monitoring of all project activities, ensuring that all activities are synchronized with ASST core program guidelines. S/he will be based in West Sumba Office.

SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: AD Specialist Staff directly reporting to this post: ASST Project Coordinator (Stimulant Institute Sumba) Work Dimensions: This position will be responsible for assuring the quality of ASST Program based on ASST framework in Sumba Field Office by partners. S/he will ensure that ASST Program are developed and implemented at a high quality and in a timely manner and are in line with SCI standards. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Coordinate the development of the work plans and its implementation as per the project document and in alignment with Save the Children policies and guidelines.

  • Coordinate the project’s effective implementation with ASST Advisor, AD Specialist, ASST Project Coordinator, M&E Coordinator, donors, and others to ensure the results are achieved and resources are managed.

  • Prepare and present annual work-plans, periodic narrative progress reports and expenditures status reports.

  • Gather and compile all information necessary for monitoring and reporting on the project from the planning to the evaluation stages.

  • Provide effective management and supervision local partners

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure clear guidance and standards for program staff and its compliance with Save the Children vision and mission.

  • Provide direct line management support and supervision to the team to ensure effective program implementation and its compliance with program objectives.

  • Monitor and evaluate the day to day implementation of all program activities to ensure that program activities are delivered in line with the allocated budget and resources.

  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure activities are implemented according to project design and provide on-site coaching to partner project staff.

  • Responsible to produce regular narrative progress and impact reports in terms of activities, implementation and progress against indicators and outcomes and to provide Managers with the necessary information to produce reports.

  • In cooperation with MEAL in monitor the technical capacity of project staff provide on-site coaching and training as required.

  • Maintain regular communication with ASST technical teams (health and education project teams) to ensure coordination and access to technical assistance.

  • Contribute to design and analysis of relevant program studies of ASST projects (baseline, mid - term, evaluation)

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS Education and experience background

  • Bachelor University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

  • At least five years of work experience with non-government organizations in the areas of ASST or livelihood or related field

  • Has experience working with teacher, Junior and Senior High School and youth in the community

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of ASST and child protection

  • Proven expertise in staff management

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills

  • Excellent project/programme management skills

  • Proven skills in project/programme development and report writing

  • Proven expertise in capacity building of teams
