Under the general supervision of the head of research department, the junior quantitative
researcher is responsible for performing data collection - both primary and secondary data, and data analysis – especially numerical data, as well as involving in all stages of research process.
Tasks and responsibilities
1. Assist in making Proposal Design, Research Design, Instrument Design;
2. Assist in Literatur review and TOR Research
3. Collect primary and secondary data, and be involved in fieldwork;
4. Conduct data entry;
5. Assist in organizing and managing data owned by SMERU;
6. Carry out data analyses;
7. Assist is writing research reports and other types of publications, including policy briefs,
journal articles, and conference papers, based on the data analysis results and
interpretation;
8. Attend seminars, workshops, meetings, and training courses; and
9. Conduct other tasks as required.
Desired Qualifications
1. At least holds a Bachelor’s degree (S1) in economics, statistics/biostatistics, public
health, or a relevant discipline;
2. A strong interest in conducting quantitative socioeconomic research;
3. Some experience in data collection and field survey;
4. Familiarity in using STATA/SPSS or other relevant quantitative data processing software
for socioeconomic research;
5. Familiarity in managing and using large data sets, especially Indonesian national data
sets, big data analysis is preferable;
6. Good communication and interview skills;
7. Good writing skills and able to write academic report and popular article;
8. Good team work and able to coordinate;
9. Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision; and
10. Fluency in both written and spoken English.
