Archipelagic and Island States Forum was initiated in 2018 as a response to SDG 14: the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development. It is the agreed position of participating countries that the AIS Forum (“the Forum”) can be influential in mitigating climate change and the pursuit of social and economic sustainability. The Forum will create a space for financing innovative solutions and technologies, as well as engendering collaboration between stakeholders. The AIS Forum is designed to include island states and archipelagic countries regardless of their location, size, and level of development. There are regional initiatives that allow island states to connect with and aid one another. The AIS Forum will create a unique grouping of nations to address the challenges of sustainable ocean resource use, climate change resilience, ocean pollution, emergency management, and sustainable fisheries. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Provide Marketing and Communications support to the AIS Forum focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Provide support to the team and work closely with UNDP Communications to develop and ensure compliance of specific documentation (e.g. drafting and editing social media posts, monthly newsletter, publication copies, digital, and hard copy appeals, articles etc.), as required;

  • Assist the team to develop and execute an adequate and integral marketing and fundraising plan;

  • Assist the team to develop and execute an adequate and integral communication plan for internal and external communication;

  • Assist the team in preparing project events related with promotional and awareness raising (training, webinar, etc). Collecting and compiling significant information and evident from project implementation processes and results as main sources for developing communication materials;

  • Support in updating database of the relevant public and development partners private sector, civil society and other stakeholders who are counterparts for the project. Monitor and evaluate the use and effectiveness of media materials and sheer results and findings;

  • Providing support to conduct media tracking, to collect and cluster news and/or articles related to the project from printed and electronic media to be used as a media coverage and supplement for the project report;

  • Support to review project documents for completeness and compliance with relevant rules and procedures prior to submission for final approval and signature; identifies inconsistencies; distributes project documents to relevant parties upon approval;

  • Conceives and drafting of files, graphics, and/or illustrations for visual media, including web, social media, and print.

2. Support strategic partnerships, communication and support to the implementation of resource mobilization:

  • In coordination with UNDP’s Communication Unit and other relevant counterpart communications department, support documentation of the project activities as a tool to communicate results, deepen stakeholder knowledge and buy-in to the project, and resource mobilization for the project;

3. Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Participation in the trainings for project staff

  • Synthesis of lessons learned and best practices from project implementation .

  • Contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.

4. The incumbent of the position should avoid any kind of discriminatory behavior including gender discrimination and ensure that;

  • Human rights and gender equality are prioritized as an ethical principle within all actions;

  • Activities are designed and implemented in accordance with “Social and Environmental Standards of UNDP”;

  • Any kind of diversities based on ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, class, gender is respected within all implementations including data production;

  • Differentiated needs of women and men are considered;

  • Inclusive approach is reflected within all actions and implementations, in that sense an enabling and accessible setup in various senses such as disability gender language barrier is created;

  • Necessary arrangements to provide gender parity within all committees, meetings, trainings etc. introduced.

INSTITUTIONAL ARRANGEMENT This position will be based in AIS Secretariat UNDP Indonesia office in Jakarta. The assignment will be conducted under the direct supervision of Project Coordinator of AIS Forum and overall guidance from AIS Forum team to support on a day-to-day basis marketing and communications aspect of the project.

RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS Academic Education:

  • Bachelor degree in marketing management, communication, or other related fields

Experience:

  • No experience is required for candidate with bachelor degree

Language:

  • Fluency in written and spoken Indonesian; and ability to written and spoken English is required.

Additional Skills and Competencies:

  • Professional experience in the field of marketing, communication or journalistic would be preferable

  • Experience work in UN/UNDP on international organization/ NGO in relevant area would be preferable
