Yayasan Inisiatif Perubahan Akses menuju Sehat (IPAS) Indonesia, is a local foundation works as affiliation of Ipas global so that women and girls have improved sexual and reproductive health and rights through enhanced access to and use of safe abortion and contraceptive care as per Indonesia’s Law. Embarking from arguably successful Post-abortion care (PAC) service modeling and the launch of PAC National Guideline, Ipas Indonesia partner with various actors in advocacy to push for women’s and girls’ access to and establishment of comprehensive sexual violence services. This can be achieved only when women and girls are able to exercise their rights in an enabling environment.
The Communications Officer will support Yayasan IPAS Indonesia to ensure advocacy messages are delivered to the specific targets in communities and/ government stakeholders, and organization’s presence are maintained. S/he will be developing media and communication strategy for the organization as well as its various projects. The Communications Officer will be responsible to providing support in the development of various documents in relation to projects, writing reports, review of documents for publication and provides technical expertise regarding media and communications. Also conduct diverse communication work, provide suggestions to increase effectivity and sustainable engagement with allies and advocacy target, monitoring, and drawing lesson from implementation.
The Communications Officer will report to the Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer. In her/his daily activities, this post will directly collaborate with Project Manager/Coordinator as well as support other team members on communication activities.
Summary of Responsibilities
Contribute to the assessment on advocacy landscape on issues relevant with Yayasan Ipas’ core issue
Develop communication strategy for advocacy and contribute to the improvement of organization’s communication strategy.
Ensure consistency of messages of the organization that includes coordinate, and implement the development and dissemination of advocacy materials in the country
Provide technical input/feedback (from communication aspect) in the implementation of social-behavior change communication strategy and activities
Maintain the positive presence of the organization. This will include but not limited to developing website and social media strategy (as a mean for advocacy campaign and also branding of Yayasan Ipas Indonesia), as well as maintaining the organization’s website and social media accounts.
Support the organization in the successful delivery of the organization’ media and communications functions
Identify and contribute to lesson drawing from communication and advocacy work of projects as well as the overall organization.
Identify and develop new communications partnerships and alliances to enhance visibility; Liaise with advocacy partners and undertake outreach to civil society organizations, governments, and other relevant stakeholder to ensure that information reaches targeted audiences;
Build and maintain partnerships, including maintain relations with partners, donors and other stakeholders:
Facilitate knowledge building and sharing, as well as provide training and workshops on communication and advocacy, as appropriate
Supervise external consultant to ensure high quality of deliverables e.g. graphic designer.

Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3-5 years relevant experience or; Master’s degree in a related field will be an advantage
Experience working in a non-profit organization
Sounds knowledge of Reproductive Health issues with orientation towards improving the space for health
Ability to influence, strengthen and nurture network of civil society movement on Reproductive Health
Professional-level fluency in both English and Indonesian (speaking, reading and writing)
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
A deep commitment to sexual and reproductive health and rights, especially abortion and contraception access
